Phoenix Quartz Finishes
A smooth finish with crushed quartz for brighter color and better wear.
Quartz finishes blend crushed quartz into the plaster. The pool feels close to standard plaster underfoot, but the quartz makes the surface harder and more resistant to stains and etching.
Polished aggregate finishes go a step further. After the finish cures, the surface is polished so small stones or glass beads show through, giving a smooth feel with some sparkle.
Both are a middle ground for Phoenix owners who want something tougher than white plaster but don't want the texture of pebble.

Pale aqua, turquoise or deeper blue, set by the quartz color.

Comfortable on hands, feet and swimsuits.

Quartz catches Phoenix light and brightens the water.

Light gray polished finishes suit geometric pools.

The City of Phoenix tells homeowners to drain pool water into the sanitary sewer cleanout. It says not to drain into the street, onto neighboring yards or into nearby washes. Every drain-down we run goes to the cleanout.
Homes on septic are different. The City says not to drain into a septic tank, and that those homes may discharge de-chlorinated, pollutant-free water to the right-of-way with a permit. We'll tell you during the inspection if that applies to you.
For most Phoenix pools, it holds up better against etching and stains while feeling about the same. Plaster still makes sense if you want the classic white look.
Darker colors can lighten over time, and some mottling is normal. Water balance has the biggest effect on how a colored finish ages.
It's smooth but not slick. Steps and benches get the same finish as the rest of the pool.
Usually, with the right prep. We check the existing surface and recommend chip-out or a bond coat.
